Rehabilitative Services for Persons with Mental Illness (RSPMI) is an Arkansas Medicaid program that covers core mental health services for the treatment and prevention of mental and/or emotional disorders. Youth Bridge obtained certification from the Arkansas Division of Behavioral Health Services (DBHS) and approval of the Arkansas Division of Medical Services (DMS) to be an RSPMI Provider in April 2009.
Medicaid is a joint federal-state medical assistance program covering medical services to eligible persons who would not be able to pay for them on their own. RSPMI requires a psychiatrist to determine the medical necessity for interventions by diagnostic services. Mental health professionals (MHPs), are licensed master’s level social workers, counselors, or psychologists, that provide treatment under the oversight of a psychiatrist, or an MD supervised by a psychiatrist.
Typical services provided at Youth Bridge are: assessment, diagnosis, family education about the disorder, treatment planning in collaboration with the client and family, therapy and therapeutic interventions, case management, and crisis intervention or crisis stabilization services. The agency must gather at least monthly client and family outcomes data via a state mandated questionnaire, and progress must be regularly reviewed to determine the effectiveness of our interventions.
