
GENERAL NEEDS LIST
At most of our facilities we have an ongoing need for:
- School, office and art supplies, housewares (plates, glassware, dish towels, cooking and eating utensils, etc.), cleaning and laundry supplies and products (detergent, mops, brooms, etc.), bath towel sets, bedding, throw rugs, and decorative pillows.
- Clothing for interviews, undergarments, shoes, socks, hoodies, sweaters (neutral colors, all sizes boys and girls), men’s belts, large and extra-large jackets, baby clothing and diapers, hygiene products (hair care products, deodorant, etc.), make-up, and haircuts.
- Board games, recreational and exercise equipment, gift cards for outings, recreational activities and events.
ADOPT-A-ROOM
- A great way to show your support is to adopt-a-room at one of our many facilities. From our Transitional Living Program apartments to our emergency shelters, residential treatment facility or our outpatient clinical offices, we welcome your contributions towards maintaining and/or improving the surroundings in which we serve our clients. This opportunity may also serve as a group project for a community organization or business team, and may be completed over a period of time.
MONETARY NEEDS
Financial donations are always appreciated and may be used as:
- DISCETIONARY FUNDING for expenses associated with general and ongoing needs to implement programs and provide services to youth and their families.
- EDUCATIONAL FUNDING for text books, educational materials, magazines and DVDs (in English & Spanish), school supplies, scholarship funding for clients excelling in the standard curriculum, college and technical school tuition.
- TECHNOLOGY FUNDING for computers, printers, printer cartridges, telephones, and related supplies, equipment and to pay for services.
- ACTIVITIES FUNDING for outings to cultural and sporting events, movies and concerts, bowling, skating, or community events and activities.
Facility-specific Needs
Emergency Shelters/Residential Programs
- Make repairs to, power wash and paint exterior of facilities, build a privacy fence around a recreation area, remodel interior to add a classroom and a computer room, clean or replace carpet, grounds maintenance, picnic tables and chairs, new PS2 system and PG13 level games, a new TV and DVD player.
- Jump ropes, punching bag, boxing gloves, basketball goals, ping pong table, inspirational artwork, gas and hotel certificates for families who live far away to visit and have family sessions, recovery literature (NA and AA books, meditation books), stamps for clients to write their families, long distance cards for clients to call home, caffeine free sodas used for behavior incentives, and a van or SUV for transporting clients to school, outings, and appointments.
Clinical Offices
- Computers, telephones, new furniture (tables, chairs, sofa, artwork, lamps, etc.) for three offices, a waiting room, and a client group room; a new TV and DVD player, funds to purchase educational DVDs
(in English & Spanish) on substance abuse, anger management, bullying parenting and life skills, a large white erase board for the client group room, and several smaller white erase boards for
individual offices.
